In the 1950s, the company built its first modern petrol stations and started developing its infrastructure network across Slovenia. As the new millennium began, the company evolved into an integrated energy group, expanding its portfolio to include natural gas, electricity, and advanced energy and environmental solutions for homes, communities, and enterprises.
Today, Petrol is not only Slovenia’s largest importer and the company with the highest revenue, but also one of the country’s leading retail chains. Petrol offers high-quality wood pellets under three proprietary brands: Forest, Forest Premium and Petroleti. Each brand is tailored to meet different customer needs in terms of quality and performance.
Petrol’s wood pellets meet the strict ENplus® quality requirements, ensuring high energy efficiency. Although Petrol employs over 5,000 people across the group, the wood pellet business is managed by a highly specialised team of just four dedicated professionals, enabling expert knowledge, responsiveness, and close customer relationships.
The company sells pellets at more than 300 Petrol service stations across Slovenia, making them easily accessible to retail customers nationwide. In addition, they also provide nationwide home delivery, offering convenience and reliable service throughout the country. Petrol’s strong logistics network, recognised and trusted brand, and the ownership of their three pellet brands give the company a clear competitive advantage in the Slovenian biomass market.
