More Than a Decade with Us: RZ Pellets

Over the years, many pellet producers, traders and service providers became ENplus^® certified, but with our campaign “More Than a Decade with Us” we pay special attention to those who were among the first to join us and remained certified for more than a decade. Today, it is a pleasure to tell the story of RZ Pellets d.o.o.  which  is the first Slovenian wood pellet producer to become ENplus^® certified.

Founded in March 2018, RZ Pellets d.o.o. took over the production facilities of Enerles, which had been operational for 13 years. The company retained all original employees, ensuring a seamless transition.

Today, RZ Pellets d.o.o. is a subsidiary of the Austrian-based Riegler & Zechmeister Ges.m.b.h. and as a part of the RZ Group, the Slovenian company has since made significant advancements in production, most notably achieving ENplus^® certification.

The RZ Group operates eight pellet mills, with one located in Pivka, Slovenia, and the rest in Austria. The group is considered to be one of the largest producers of pellets in Austria and Slovenia, producing approximately 500 000 tons of pellets annually across all its production sites.

RZ Pellets d.o.o produce both ENplus A1 and ENplus A2 certified pellets and supplies markets such as Slovenia, Italy, Croatia, and beyond, while also fulfilling local retail needs. The company’s strategic location in Pivka, Slovenia, enhances its logistical advantages and makes it possible for the company to deliver pellets to schools, kindergartens, sports facilities, households, etc. Committed to environmental protection, RZ Pellets d.o.o. continually seeks to update and optimize its production processes.
