Massimo Daruos from Cadel: Transforming home heating with innovative pellet stove solutions

It’s a cold January in most places in the northern hemisphere so there’s no better time to discuss modern pellet appliances. We are thrilled to talk with the CEO of Cadel – Massimo Daruos who shares insights into the advantages of modern pellet stoves, the importance of using high-quality wood pellets, and the company’s expectations for the future of pellet appliances.

Hello Massimo, introduce us to Cadel.

Cadel is based in Treviso, northeast of Italy, and it’s specialized in the design and production of pellet and wood stoves, pellet fireplaces and wood-burning kitchens. For over 60 years the company has been offering families efficient and reliable solutions for sustainable space heating, covering both the Italian and European markets, with a strong presence in France.

In 2013, Cadel joined MCZ Group, renowned as one of the leading European players in the biomass heating sector. Under new management, in 2023, Cadel inaugurated a new headquarters and a 4.0 production plant, an area of 15,000 sqm, including a 3000 sqm automatic warehouse, 10 production lines and 7 finishing lines. The entire production process takes place in a single site, which can also count on good energy autonomy, thanks to a 400-kW photovoltaic park.

Here is where made-in-Italy Cadel products are designed to grant unique home fire experiences.

What are the advantages of a modern pellet stove?

Modern pellet stoves offer the utmost combination of natural heating and technological features. The result is effortless, safe and sustainable heating solutions. As for Cadel products, all our pellet stoves are endowed with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connection and, thanks to the Easy Connect app, you can switch on and off, set up and control the stove remotely, wherever you are.

To help reduce the cleaning operations, we have also introduced the self-cleaning brazier, an automatic system that removes the ash deposit, avoiding the daily manual cleaning of the firebox. All our stoves are also embedded with the GoFast technology, a ceramic-type glow plug that grants a faster pellet ignition and lower electricity consumption than the conventional metal resistor.

And you also have UPS-ready technology to ensure power during electricity blackouts, the Comfort Mode function for an extra-silent stove, and many other features that make a modern pellet stove a real life-changer for home heating.

You are a partner of ENplus®. Why is it important that customers use high-quality wood pellets in their pellet appliances?

We always recommend using ENplus® certified pellets because high-quality pellets make the appliances work at maximum efficiency and prolong the stove life due to low maintenance efforts. We believe that users have to be guided towards the best choice, especially when they purchase their first pellet stove. We want them to experience the best heating performance, also using the right pellets.

Do you expect a stronger demand for pellet appliances in 2025?

Yes, after a quite challenging phase during the past two years, for 2025 we expect an increase between +10% and +20% compared to 2024.

Given the advantages of using a reliable home heating solution, pellet appliances are also crucial for the transition to a more sustainable source of energy. Not only pellets have a renewable life cycle, but modern stoves can also grant the lowest emission levels, matching the regional and European emission standards.
